Wasted Rhymes NewsLive and Unsigned Area final journey ends but another one startsWell we didn't make it through to the o2 but hey ho we put up a grand fight amongst fierce oposition all half our ages and did ourselves a grand job. There was a very high standard of young talent and quite honestly we were never going to be chosen above the younger acts who were very talented. However we made our stand for the older band and still feel that it is a little sad that older bands who want to stay original tend to get over looked. It is really hard work to stay playing your own material, it seems once passed a certain age you are supposed to start becoming purely a covers band. Of course there is, as we have said before nothing wrong with that but age should not determine creativity. Wasted Rhymes intend to carry on writing, playing and recording their own material and may play the odd creative cover here and there of course along the way but will stay true to themselves. We would like to thank all those who have supported us in this and whilst this journey has ended another is set to start almost immediately with the recording of our new orginals set. Thanks again to everyone and to the lovely young acts we met at the area finals who we wish all the best of luck to in their musical careers. We have always supported Live music of every kind and could not have got this far without your support so Thanks again and see you soon. Remember we support Paul Young and Los Pacaminos in Oct so make sure you get your tickets early when they go on sale. Much Love Wasted Rhymes xxxxx Making a stand for the older band.Wasted Rhymes are making a stand for the older band in their bid to get through to the Grand Final of Live and unsigned at the 02. They have already succesfully got the public vote to take them to the Midland area finals on 13th May at Bedford Corn Exchange. Wasted Rhymes entered the competition as it is open to all age groups to find themselves amongst many, many young bands. Older bands deserve a break too and put in a lot of work, time, effort and are passionate about their music the same as the younger bands. They also support the young bands and Roger from Wasted Rhymes has also run open mic nights helping these young bands to get seen and heard. Therefore we are really grateful to everyone who has got behind us, supported us and our music and our bid to play the 02. Thank you WASTED RHYMES x Wasted Rhymes get the public National VoteWasted Rhymes have made it to the Midlands Area Finals for Live and Unsigned by Public vote they managed to get the most text votes to make it through.
